STARS WINNERS
STARS Awards honor best of the home building industry
The North Carolina Home Builders Association presented 44 prestigious STARS awards at the annual STARS Awards Gala on September 14 at the Hilton Charlotte Center City Hotel. The STARS Awards program honors the achievements of home building industry professionals from North Carolina and surrounding states.
Winners received recognition in areas such as marketing and advertising, web design, landscape design, interior merchandising, architecture/floor plan and special projects. Awards were also given to local home builders associations.
[Editor’s Note: With the exception of the “Super Star Awards”, the awards are grouped according to the home builders association that the winner is a member of so that you can quickly find the winners from your area.]
The coveted Super Star Awards went to the following recipients:
Richard White of Pella Window and Door was named the Distinguished Associate Member of the Year. White is a member of the HBAs of Craven-Pamlico Cos., Pitt Co., Onslow Co. and Carteret Co. He is active in each of his local HBAs, serves on several committees at the state level and is a volunteer with many charitable organizations.
Andy Raganof Ragan-Embler Builders was named the Distinguished Builder Member of the Year. Ragan serves on the Board of Directors for the Cabarrus Co. Building Industry Association. He spearheaded the Jimmy Murphey Home Project, which won Best HBA Community Project, and is actively involved in his community.
The Community of the Year Award was given to Ammons Development Group for Heritage in Wake Forest, NC. Heritage is comprised of 26 neighborhoods ranging from starter townhomes in the $150s–$400s to single-family homes from the low $200s–$600s. The vast array of recreational amenities includes golf, tennis, two swim complexes, miles of walking and biking trails, greenways, playgrounds, soccer fields, amphitheater and a fully stocked fishing pond.
